What are the registration deadlines?
The hotel registration deadline is July 25, 2013, 6:00 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time, to receive the conference rate of $209 (single through quadruple occupancy). We encourage people to register early if they wish to receive that rate before and/or after the official conference days of August 15th to August 19th based on availability.
The early bird conference registration deadline is on or before June 7, 2013. Please register online here: https://resweb.passkey.com/go/nrabrooklyn2013
Accommodation requests can only be honored if they are received no later than June 17, 2013.
When does the 2013 conference officially begin and end?
The conference officially begins on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Registration opens at 8:00 am and the Opening Session starts at 9:00 am. Some pre-conference activities are scheduled for Saturday, August 17, 2013. The conference ends on Tuesday, at 11:30am following the concurrent sessions scheduled for that day.
Can I pay with credit card?

Personal check, PayPal and major credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diner’s Club and JCB credit) are accepted for on-line products, workshops and in person services..

Can I pay using a purchase order?
Yes, to pay by purchase order: Make purchase order payable to: Metro NY, National Rehabilitation Assoc. Are all sessions included in the conference fee?
The conference fee includes all the general sessions and concurrent sessions between Sunday, August 18, 2013, 9:00 am and Tuesday, August 20, 2013, 11:30am. Also included are: entrance to the Exhibit Hall and Silent Auction, the Presidents’ Reception, the Awards Social and the Awards Dinner (not included in Student Registration-there is an additional charge). Continental breakfasts are provided for three mornings.

What is not covered in the conference fee?
Lunch is on your own. The Awards Dinner is not included in Student Registration-there is an additional charge. Pre-conference activities are not covered. The NRA Delegate Assembly is open only to delegates duly accredited by their chapter or division and who presented their credentials on Sunday, 8:00 am to 9:00 am, at the Desk for Delegate Certification. The Delegate Assembly meets on Sunday 5:15 to 6:30pm after the General Sessions.

I’ve already registered but cannot attend. Can I cancel or transfer my registration?
Please check with the hotel about cancellation.
Conference registration cancellation must be made on or before August 7, 2013. There is a $50 cancellation fee. We are unable to process cancellations after that date.
We will try to accommodate transfer of registrations if they occur on or before August 7. 2103.

Does NRA membership come with my registration fee?
No, membership comes from joining NRA. Go to its website for more information: http://www.nationalrehab.org

I’m a NRA member. Do I get a discount for the conference?
Yes, NRA members are given a discount for registering at all conference activities.

Is lunch included in my registration fee?
No, lunch is on your own. The program brochure will provide a guide to the many local eateries in the area. Also we publish suggestions on the website.

What is a “Pre-Conference Session” and why do I need to pre-register?
This sessions are sponsored by the different divisions and/or regional chapters of NRA primarily for their membership. Rates are set differently for their membership, other NRA members and non-NRA members.

Is there a group discount?
No specific group discounts are being offered; however, groups seeking such a discount may be arranged depending on what activities their members may be attending. Please contact Tony LaGattuta at [email protected] or 718-357-3928.

What are the criteria for student registration?
Student registration is being offered in most instances to NRA and non-NRA members to full-time students with a copy of student photo ID.

What does a guest registration include?
Dinner guests are allowed for the regular $100 fee. The only guests would be those attending and paying as non-NRA members.

Are children allowed at the conference?
Children are not allowed in the conference.

Can I get continuing education units (CEUs) by attending the conference?
The Conference Steering Committee is working on securing the CEU approvals:

What about graduate credit?
No, no graduate credits will be offered.

Where do I pick up my certificate of participation?
On the last day of the conference you will receive a certificate of participation for the sessions attended.

What if I cannot find a conference hotel?
The Brooklyn Marriott has set aside quite a few rooms to meet the needs of our conference. If there is a need for an overflow, we will provide information on the website on any hotel(s) with which we have developed an agreement to meet the needs of our conferees.

Which hotels have free shuttle service to the conference center?
If we have to develop arrangement with a non-conference hotel, it will try to include free shuttle service and it will probably be within walking distance as well.

I’m driving. Where do I park?

Where do I pick up my name badge and registration bag?
At the registration desk you will receive your conference badge, registration bag, and ticket for the Awards Dinner.

Will there be a printed conference program brochure available onsite?
Yes, there will be conference program brochure. In addition, the names of the conferees with the email addresses will be made available on the conference website here … https://nyceda.org/nra-2013-annual-training-conference-conferee-list/ unless a conferee chooses not to be included.

I signed up for a tour. Where do I meet my group?

Are there accommodations for special needs at the conference?

Am I allowed to record sessions or presentations at the conference?
Courtesy requires that you should ask the presenter(s) for permission.

Will sessions and presentations be available for viewing after the conference?
Presenters are being encouraged to have their presentations available on PowerPoint in print or electronically.

When does the Exhibit Hall open?
It will open on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 10:30 am till 8:30 pm; on Monday, August 19, 2013, it open 8:30 am till 6:30pm.

What is the best way to get updates at the conference?
Pay attention to our website which will highlight important changes.

Will there be free wifi throughout the entire convention center?
The hotel offers free wi-fi in the main lobby. All guest rooms offer high-speed hotel internet access for a fee.

Is there a business center onsite?
The hotel provides a business center for all its guests.

Is there a discounted rate for merchandise and books at the conference?

The hotel doesn’t let us sell merchandise in person during the conference other than during the Silent Auction raffle. Those wishing to purchase silent auction raffle items can use credit card if so desired and will be assisted during the auction.

Do you collect feedback about the conference?
We are required to distribute and collect program evaluation questionnaires in order to issue certificates of participation for CEUs.
